Bushbury Lane Academy joins the REAch2 family

1 March 2017
Oxley Primary School in Wolverhampton has officially become an academy and joins REAch2 Academy Trust today, 1st March, 2017. The newly converted academy has been re-named Bushbury Lane Academy, and is the first school to join the Trust in Wolverhampton.
The school which has 213 children aged between 3-11, believes in providing children with an education that is imaginative and creative, and that offers all children the chance to enjoy learning and to understand their place in the world around them. They also aim to offer children experiences that will develop the skills they need to excel in a 21st century world.
Kate Benton, Acting Headteacher, Bushbury Lane Academy, said:
‘Joining the family of schools in REAch2 is an exciting time that children, parents and staff are excited about. At Bushbury Lane, we have the shared vision that we want children to become ‘INSPIRED’.
‘We have adopted our attitude to learning based on this vision and want to see children leave Bushbury Lane Academy with the skills and attitudes they need for their future education and beyond. It is a key principle at Bushbury Lane Academy that we offer children the highest education in a safe and caring environment.
‘We are planning an amazing opening to celebrate the new start for Bushbury Lane Academy that will be designed with the children, parents and staff. We want to celebrate the wonderful future in front of us!’
Cathie Paine, Deputy CEO of REAch2, said:
‘We’re delighted that Bushbury Lane Academy will be joining the REAch2 family on the 1st March. We are very much looking forward to working with those at the school to provide an outstanding education to children in Wolverhampton.’
Beverley Gates, West Midlands Regional Director at REAch2, said:
‘Bushbury Lane will be joining a strong family of great schools across the West Midlands.  Mrs Benton is an experienced and passionate leader who has supported the Oxley Primary community through their journey over the past few months and will lead the school forwards as a REAch2 academy.  We welcome the children and their community into the family, that is REAch2.’
