About the Role

We wish to appoint a Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistant (SEND LSA) to start September 2024 on a part-time basis working 32.5 hours per week term time only plus 5 INSET days. The role is offered on fixed term of 12 months with a view to extend. The Learning Support Assistant role is vital to the school and involves supporting children with a variety of needs including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s). We are particularly interested in speaking to individuals who have a background in Speech and Language, ADHD, ACMH and Autism.

 

Successful candidates should have:

  • Experience of working with and caring for children
  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs.
  • High expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to developing innovative approaches to learning, teaching, mentoring and guidance
  • A commitment to promoting and fostering good relationships between children and with parents and colleagues

 

You should:

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents and other staff
  • The ability to relate in a firm and friendly way with a wide range of personalities
  • The ability to use initiative
  • Be willing to undertake direction and guidance
  • Have a good understanding of behaviour management strategies
  • Be able to work as part of a team
